I am an experienced Examination Access Arrangements assessor and dyslexia diagnostician, registered with the British Psychological Society, on the Register of Qualified Test Users and a member of the British Dyslexia Association and PATOSS. I hold a current Assessment Practising Certificate, PG Cert. SEND and Level 7 CPT3A, as well as an Honours Degree in Education with Qualified Teacher Status, plus I am a qualified SpLD teacher, working with learners who have a wide range of SpLDs, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, DCD/dyspraxia, ASD/Aspergers, ADD/ADHD, EBD, MHD, sensory impairment, and so on.  Most of my direct teaching work is on a 1:1 basis, using a totally individualised programme based upon needs and strengths and can be delivered remotely.

Q I am a long way from your location. Can you still do assessments for me/us?

Dyslexia Diagnostic Assessments - No, these are not permitted via video link by the relevant professional associations due to the importance of qualitative information gained from face-to-face testing.

Examination Access Arrangements assessments - Yes. These are permitted by video link but there are certain protocols which must be followed and one key member of staff at the school/college will need to undertake a little training ahead of video testing taking place.

Q I am interested in specialist tutoring as my child has a SpLD. Can you do this online?

Yes - absolutely. I would liaise with you and your son/daughter to get all the information I need, would send you a questionnaire to fill in together, then return, and then we would have a first meeting online before I put together a programme of multi-sensory learning to ensure progress and enjoyment as we work together over a period of time.
