Furnished to luxury standards, we have taken great care to ensure that everything is ecologically friendly, and you will notice some lovely touches from the moment you arrive at this bespoke, single-storey, detached lodge. Boasting a large private decking area (part south-facing) and two bathrooms, this property really does have everything discerning guests require for the perfect stay. Kelling Heath Holiday Park is set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers an indoor heated swimming pool and spa, spa pool a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, well-equipped gym, sauna, steam room, restaurant, bar and pizza restaurant/takeaway a 5-minute walk away. A leisure centre pass is required, and guests at Valley View Lodge can get two passes for the price of one. On the village square is a well-stocked shop featuring many locally produced items as well as all essentials and there is also bicycle hire available.
There are great walks and cycle routes to enjoy the wildlife such as red squirrels, a bug hotel and bat population, ponds with fishing, and lots of organised activities for young and old alike, as well as live entertainments on the village square. The park is also a designated Dark Sky Discovery Site, and the owners of Valley View Lodge have thoughtfully provided a telescope, perfect for star gazing to your heart’s content. Kelling Heath also hosts lots of great events throughout the year, and many guests who come here need never leave as there is so much to do. If you can tear yourself away however, you will find yourself close to all the action of the stunning north Norfolk coastline with Weybourne Beach just over a mile away. The North Norfolk Heritage Steam Railway has a stop at Kelling Heath and you can step back in time as you board for Sheringham and Holt. The Norfolk Broads, Thursford Steam and Muckleburgh Military Collections, numerous beaches and marsh habitats such as Cromer, Sheringham, Blakeney and Cley, are all within easy reach, as are Sheringham Park and the Blickling and Holkham Estates. The beach at Weybourne is 1 mile away. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Q Are you open all year?

No! The park is open from early February until Christmas (inclusive). There are usually six - seven weeks each year (January and early February) when the park is shut to enable all major maintenance tasks to take place.

Q How do I find out more about the lodge and what it is like on the park?

The lodge website has many photos of the interior and exterior of the lodge on it. (www.valleyviewlodge.co.uk). Kelling Heath has its own website (www.kellingheath.co.uk) which gives comprehensive information about staying on the site, the facilities and amenities available and the nature-themed activities that take place on site, many of which are organised for children of different ages or for entire families.

Q How do I book a break at the lodge or find out about its availability?

On the lodge website there is a calendar showing any dates which are currently available for this year. Bookings can be made via this website or by emailing me at valleyviewkelling@gmail.com. The lodge does get booked up well in advance, especially in school holidays so it is as well to think ahead to next year now. (Bookings for 2021 are already open and any dates booked can be secured for a booking deposit of £100 now, with the balance payable 6 weeks before the date of the break).

Q What is there to do in the lodge?

If you want a quiet day in or the weather keeps you inside there is plenty to do in the lodge. We provide, among other things, a wide selection of wooden games for all ages, colouring books for children and colour therapy books for adults, reading books, over 200 DVDs, wildlife log and binoculars, sketch books, Sudoku/crossword/wordsearch books, table tennis bats & balls (for use on the Village Square), a Weber Kettle+ BBQ, 2 televisions with built-in DVD players, DAB radio, lodge jigsaw, new cube deck furniture with LED parasol, two adult bikes (children's bikes to be added soon), Swingball and, if you venture out in the rain, there are lodge umbrellas, reusable shopping bags and torches for guests to use!

Q How is the lodge eco-friendly?

We have worked hard to source items for the lodge which are upcycled or recycled/recyclable and, if plastic, are made from recycled plastics or can be recycled at the end of their life. Our rugs, for example, are made from recycled plastics; our duvets and pillows are filled with recycled plastic fibres (they are so soft it's hard to believe and they are warm in winter but cool in summer!); many items are made from wood (the linen baskets in both bathrooms and the step stool were made especially for the lodge), the toilet brushes are bamboo, the coffee table was upcycled and the soft furnishings, including duvet covers, pillow cases etc., are all made of pure cotton. Even the small stands we put your complimentary toiletries on are made from recycled materials. It wasn't easy sourcing all these things but so many guests have said that they appreciate the thought of not adding more rubbish to an already too polluted planet when they are staying at the lodge. In the first year of letting this lovely holiday home, Valley View Lodge was awarded Cottages.com's prestigious Green Holiday Award.
